WesthillWesthill is booming with 10’s of millions of pounds being invested in new offices will house thousands of new personnel.The population of Westhill has grown from 500 in 1971 to over 11000 in 2007, and is now the fifth largest town in Aberdeenshire. The new construction projects include a £20 million site for Acergy to house as many as 800 people.Next door is Subsea 7 with offices to house up to 1100 people. Knight Real Estate is spending £45 million on a speculative office development, which will house up to 22 businesses in seven pavilions. Gladman Developments has also started work on the first phase of a £20million speculative office development.Technip has its North Sea and Canada headquarters at Westhill, employing 750 people in the offices, and a further 2,000 working offshore out of the North-East base. Westhill is being dubbed “Surf City” by the Subsea community as it is becoming a global subsea hub. Westhill is also providing a solution, that will greatly enhance and improve Aberdeen's office stock for new and existing businesses. |
